Start.nl Part 1 – Dutch for beginners is a communicative Dutch-as-a-second-language method for international students and expats who want to start using Dutch quickly in everyday situations. The course takes learners from level 0 to A1 and gets them using the language in a practical way from the very beginning.

Each chapter starts with online preparation using animated videos, audio clips, and exercises focusing on listening, speaking, grammar, and vocabulary. Learners then continue with the exercises in the book and can practise further online.

New in the revised edition:

• The exercises from the book are now also available online. This means the entire course can be completed digitally, making the workbook optional.

• All ten chapters have been fully revised. The themes have been updated and the order of some sections has been adjusted.

• The instructions on the website are now in English, allowing learners to work independently from level 0.

• Grammar topics are explained in short instructional videos that learners can watch independently.
