Sterk aan het werk
Career training for employees and job seekers
Many NT2 students do not perform well in job applications, internships or at work. General NT2 methods focus on language skills, but not on the social skills needed to find and keep a job and build a career in a new culture.
Sterk aan het werk offers practical tools to develop these skills. These include issues such as self-confidence, respect, responsibility, making your own choices and interacting with others. In various assignments, students apply the material to their own situation, practise the Crucial Actions and train their language skills.
Sterk aan het werk includes a website with videos, telephone conversations and other material for students. A manual with teaching tips and additional practice material is available for teachers.
Sterk aan het werk can be used alongside other NT2 language methods to prepare or support students from level A2 onwards in their internship or (voluntary) work. It is also suitable for participants in reintegration programmes or Dutch language courses, and students in level 1 and 2 vocational education who could use extra support in the areas of language and social skills.
