Reading Skills from A1 to A2

Anyone who wants to reach reading level A2 needs to make progress. With Reading Together, students make that progress through stories based on everyday topics.

This book centers on the residents of Julianastraat. Their stories form a cohesive whole and are humorous and richly illustrated. This makes them a pleasure for students to read—whether independently, in class, or in small groups. Each story is followed by comprehension exercises. Students can practice further on the website www.nt2school.nl.

For the teacher

A comprehensive teacher’s guide is available for teachers, including additional practice materials to improve writing and speaking skills and expand vocabulary. This allows a single reading text to be used for training all skills.

Who is it for?

Samen lezen is suitable for NT2 students at CEFR reading level A1. With this book, students will progress toward level A2. Samen lezen is also suitable for NT1 students who wish to practice reading skills at this level.

About the revision

In this revised edition, the texts have been slightly adapted so that the stories better reflect the present day. The accompanying practice materials have been adjusted accordingly, while the familiar structure of Samen lezen has been retained.

In addition, three illustrations have been updated (text 6 on p. 32, text 8 on p. 40, and text 15 on p. 68) so that they align well with the revised texts.

The digital learning environment is available in NT2 School. The online assignments have only been updated where necessary due to changes in the text. In some cases, a different exercise type has been chosen.
