To learn to read fluently, in a new language, you need lots of practice. You can do that with this collection of stories for beginning readers of Dutch. These are short, often witty stories from Holland, telling about smart and dumb people, about strength through unity, about supernatural creatures and the danger of pride.
Wie steekt de draak? is drawn from the Volksverhalenbank van de Lage Landen, a database full of Dutch and Flemish sagas, fairy tales, legends, jokes, riddles and urban legends, set up and managed by the Meertens Institute in Amsterdam.
Each story is written on three levels. This makes them compatible with different stages of reading skill development, and they are also very good to use in groups of students of different levels. The stories are suitable for adult NT2 learners, for older ISK and OKAN students and for Dutch people who want to improve their reading skills.
