Welkom in Nederland - herziene editie
KNM for the Inburgeringsexamen
In Welcome to the Netherlands, non-native speakers are introduced to Dutch society and can prepare for the ‘Knowledge of Dutch Society’ (KNM) section of the integration exam. The method consists of a textbook and a website at language level A2, in line with the KNM exam.
The textbook consists of seven thematic chapters, each divided into so-called tasks. Each task deals with a sub-theme with explanations and (practical) assignments. The themes are in line with the KNM exam: living together, healthcare, housing, parenting and education, working, government agencies, and the Dutch state.
The website contains interactive exercises similar to the exam, photocopiable worksheets, glossaries in various languages, answer keys, worksheets for extracurricular exercises, and a teacher's manual. In January 2026, the material will be expanded with additional exercises, such as review exercises and exercises with important words.
What has changed?
This 4th edition has been thoroughly revised to align with the new KNM attainment targets. This fourth edition can no longer be used alongside the third edition. Due to the alignment with the new attainment targets and the updating of the content, more than half of the content has changed.
