'Big Brother is watching you'. We have all heard this classic phrase before. Big Brother is a concept from George Orwell's famous book 1984. Meanwhile, this 1949 book is considered a literary masterpiece that is still relevant even today.

In 1984, you read about Winston Smith. He lives in the country of Oceania, in the city of London. Here everyone is watched by Big Brother, who monitors everything through screens. Winston is a government official and works at the Ministry of Truth where he edits the past for the Party's vision. Winston is against the Party, yet he works for them. At work, he meets Julia, who, like Winston, is against the Party. They meet secretly and their relationship grows closer and more intimate as they begin an affair. Winston thinks he is also against the Party. But since his encounter with O'Brien, Winston keeps facing difficult choices. What will Big Brother think of that? Because remember: Big Brother is always watching.
