NT2 Cahier Muziek maken in de les
Using songs and rhymes to improve (Alpha) NT2 students' pronunciation and intonation
Music as a tool
Learning natural pronunciation and intonation in a new language is one of the most difficult things there is. Music can be a great tool to get started with this. A sung text is linked in memory to the melody, rhythm and repetition of the song. This makes it much easier to remember what the words and phrases should sound like and also makes it easier to reproduce them.
Songs and rhymes
Dirk Eggermont uses this fact and has written songs and rhymes aimed at inculcating everyday language, social routines and simple grammatical patterns in a playful way. As a teacher, you can get straight to work with his elaborated lesson ideas. Musical aptitude is not necessary, enthusiasm is!
