The Participation Process (PVT)

The Participation Declaration Process (PVT) is a mandatory part of civic integration and is a component of the Personal Plan for Integration and Participation (PIP). Persons obliged to integrate are introduced to the core values of Dutch society and sign a participation declaration. It is the task of the municipality to make an appropriate PIP offer to the person obliged to integrate. The municipality is also responsible for funding.
The PVT program consists of a minimum of 12 hours. You learn about the most important values, social rules and fundamental rights in the Netherlands. You learn what duties you have and what the expectations and manners of Dutch society are.
The PVT must be completed within three years. The PVT is completed by signing the participation declaration. By doing so, you indicate that you are involved in Dutch society and that you are willing to actively contribute to it.
