Praktijkboek NT2
Manual on language and integration
With the change in the inburgeringswet (2021), it is necessary to redefine the place of the teacher. The profession changes considerably, the language requirement goes to B1, the goal becomes labour participation. The basis will still be language learning, but teachers will have to deal with so much more: new policies, 21st-century skills, guiding volunteers, digital platforms and learning tools, extracurricular learning.
This practice book prepares teachers for the new civic integration (2021) and the profession of NT2 teacher in a broad sense. The three authors (Margreet Verboog, Indrawati Gunawan and Damayanti Gunawan) approach the profession from their own discipline: policy, practice and language acquisition.
Twelve chapters cover all facets of the profession: from language acquisition to learners with disabilities, from language focused on work to intercultural communication. You will get answers to questions such as:
- What is your student's learning objective and what vocabulary does he or she need for this?
- How do you develop independent learning skills?
- What do we allow and what do we want in class?
Target group
Beginning and advanced NT2 teachers.
