Dutch Grammar Support
Grammar help for learners at A2, B1 and B2 level
Dutch Grammar Support is a modern reference grammar. It gives an overview of Dutch grammar rules, presented in an accessible manner: explained in simple words (English!) and with clear example sentences and short test assignments. It is structured according to CFR levels A2, B1 and B2. Dutch Grammar Support is for beginning and more advanced learners of Dutch as a second language or as a foreign language. It helps to understand the structure of the language and it supports the learning process, also by reflecting on one's own language and on how to learn. With Dutch Grammar Support, the learner becomes more independent from a teacher. On the other hand, Dutch Grammar Support can be a source for help and inspiration for teachers.
Dutch Grammar Support makes a distinction between Form, Meaning and Use when explaining the grammatical rules. Rules are given for every subject at levels A2, B1 and B2, to make clear which grammatical rule you should know at which level.
Dutch Grammar Support is innovative, because of its
- lay-out in levels A2, B1 en B2 (CEFR)
- information on form, meaning and use
- explanation in simple words (English!) with only few grammatical terms
- attractive example sentences and tables
- short assignments
- reflection on the learner's own language
- advice on how to learn
On every level, the rules are explained in English and there are numerous and varied example sentences in Dutch. Wherever possible and useful, the rules are summarised in a table. You can test whether you understand the information in short assignments.
Every chapter ends with a reflection on 'Your own language' and advice 'How to learn'. With the extensive Index in the back of the book you are always able to find what you are looking for.
