Nederlands voor buitenlanders - Tekstboek + Online

For students who wish to work online, but also want to make use of the printed book, we offer this useful combination. It contains Nederlands voor buitenlanders – Tekstboek and provides access to the online edition. The course consists of 43 lessons. Each lesson features a text, a listening exercise, a writing exercise and a test. Each lesson also contains one section on grammar, which allows students to train their listening and speaking skills whilst dealing with subjects related to knowledge of Dutch society (KNM exam themes).

The digital exercises in NT2 SCHOOL make self-study easier and more effective. For example, words in the texts are clickable, which makes it possible to immediately hear and see the translation. Additional exercises and tests are also available online. This product grants 1 year access to the online service with the material.

Translations

Nederlands voor buitenlanders contains translations in no less than 26 languages: Arabic, Bulgarian, Chinese, English, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Kurdish (Kurmanci), Lithuanian, Persian (Farsi), Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Serbian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai, Czech, Turkish, and Vietnamese.

Nederlands voor buitenlanders can also be taken entirely online, without the need for a textbook: Nederlands voor buitenlanders - Online.

Students without access to the Internet can use the Nederlands voor buitenlanders – Tekstboek, which also contains two CDs and a CD-ROM.

The Nederlands voor buitenlanders – Oefenboek is optional and contains additional exercises that are geared to the lessons in the textbook.

Digital resources

The use of the online material is essential for this course to succeed. The textbook contains a login code which you can use to access the course in NT2 SCHOOL.

The online versions of all Delft method courses are compatible with Mac and Windows, and with the following web browsers:

The Delft method online uses Flash. This program does not work on tablets and smartphones. The Delft method app has been developed for the iPad, iPhone and Android.

Nederlands voor buitenlanders starts at level 0 and ends at level A2. This is the required level for the integration exam in the Netherlands.

The follow-up course to Nederlands voor buitenlanders is Tweede Ronde, which takes students from level A2 to level B1.

Nederlands voor buitenlanders is designed for students who

• have completed secondary education (pre-vocational, senior general secondary education or pre-university education)
• have completed or are taking further education at an institution of basic vocational training (MBO), professionally-oriented education (HBO) or academic higher education (WO)

The teaching method can be used as a self-study method and also as a teaching method for groups.

For beginners who have not completed secondary education, we offer the courses Basiscursus 1 (0 > A1) and/or Basiscursus 2 (A1 > A2).

Bondi Sciarone is one of the founders of the Delft method. He is an authority in the area of NT2 education for non-native speakers. 

Piet Meijer (General Linguistics, University of Leiden) is a teacher and coordinator at the Centre for Languages and Academic Skills (ITAV) at the Delft University of Technology. His main tasks are to provide NT2 education and to develop NT2 teaching tools. He has studied the effectiveness of completion exercises and listening training and is co-author of various editions of the De Delftse Methode series and teaching tools for specific subjects. He also trains (future) teachers and advises institutes regarding the teaching tools and didactics behind De Delftse Methode.
