Beter lezen - Tekstboek

Beter Lezen is a reading course for literacy groups and slow learners in NT2 education. The method can also be used in NT1 education.

The texts are simple but take adults' interests into account. They consist of a combination of original stories and authentic material the learners are confronted with in everyday life. The texts are clarified with illustrations. In this way, the motivation for reading is maintained and students get the necessary ‘reading mileage’.

The level of the texts gradually rises to Alpha C. For each text, there are exercises at different levels - so differentiation is possible. 

Better Reading consists of a textbook and two exercise books. Exercise book 1 provides exercises for texts 1 to 21 from the textbook; exercise book 2 for texts 22 to 42. With the exercise books, students work on text comprehension and vocabulary. 

Because the texts are short, it is possible to work on them in groups. 

Target group

Better Reading is for newly and differently literate adults. The course is intended as enrichment material alongside a general literacy or NT2 method.
