Mathematics in high school inevitably involves language. Those who do not master and understand the language used in mathematics methods cannot perform at their own level in this subject.

The low-threshold method WISK, developed by a math teacher at ISK, prepares non-native students for the “language of math” in secondary school. The method covers the basic mathematical principles combined with the linguistic aspect of the subject. Concepts such as “opposite sides” and “parallel” are explained to the students using clear illustrations. With WISK, foreign-language learners more easily reach the level that suits them.

Content

WISK Y is a text and workbook in one. The method consists of 6 chapters with a total of 30 lessons, with many practical exercises and clear full-color illustrations. In the book you will find a code that gives access to the online extra material.

Target group

WISK Y is for non-native speaking youth between the ages of 12 and 16 on ISK, learning route 3. For students on ISK learning route 1 and 2, there is WISK X.
