Dutch for Beginners
Who is it for?
Nederlands in gang is a communicative Dutch language course designed for highly educated non-native speakers in the Netherlands and abroad. This beginner-level method helps learners progress towards CEFR level A2, with a focus on the language needed for everyday situations encountered by students and professionals.
Learning Dutch through active communication
The course is characterised by interactive teaching methods, engaging tasks and a strong emphasis on vocabulary development. It also offers clear grammar explanations, integrated pronunciation practice and opportunities for learners to reflect on their learning process.
Developing all language skills
Across sixteen varied chapters, learners practise all language skills: speaking, listening, reading, writing and conversation. The dialogues are based on realistic, everyday situations, enabling learners to communicate in Dutch with confidence in a relatively short time.
Extensive online support
An extensive online learning environment is available at www.nt2school.nl, featuring interactive exercises, grammar and pronunciation videos, and audio recordings of the dialogues, language functions and vocabulary.
Part of a complete Dutch-language learning pathway
Dutch for Beginners is part of a communicative Dutch-as-a-second-language series that supports learners from beginner to advanced level (C1+): Dutch for Beginners (Nederlands in gang), Dutch in Action (Nederlands in actie), Dutch at an Advanced Level (Nederlands op niveau), Dutch to Perfection (Nederlands naar perfectie) and Dutch to the Top (Nederlands naar de top).
