Diploma evaluation: How do you do that?
Have you obtained a degree in your home country? And can you use that diploma to find work in the Netherlands? Then you can have your diploma evaluated. A diploma evaluation shows what your diploma is worth in the Netherlands.
You can apply for your diploma evaluation once for free. This is done via the Informatiecentrum Diplomawaardering website. Request your diploma evaluation as soon as possible. It takes at least four weeks to get the evaluation.
The Orientation on the Dutch Labour Market (Oriëntatie op de Nederlandse Arbeidsmarkt, ONA) exam costs € 100.00. This exam is part of the integration exam, but you can also do the ONA exam separately. This is required, for example, if you do NT2 State Examination to integrate.
To pay for the costs of the exam and any integration course, you can apply for a loan of up to € 10,000.00 from the Education Executive Agency (Dienst Uitvoering Onderwijs, DUO).
When you follow an integration course at a language school, attention is always paid to the ONA exam. On the website of Blik Op Werk, you will find an overview of all language schools in the Netherlands that have a quality certification. If you want to borrow money from DUO for a course, you may only follow a course that has this certification from Blik Op Werk.
There are also schools offering separate ONA courses. These courses are more intensive than the ONA part of an integration course. Separate ONA courses can be found by searching the internet.
